Busy Londoners with no time to visit art galleries will be able to enjoy a photography exhibition from the top decks of Londonâs buses from tomorrow.
The unprecedented âbus stop topâ exhibition will display Juergen Tellerâs photographs, featuring Vivienne Westwood, Kurt Cobain, Kate Moss and Bjork, on the roofs of Londonâs bus shelters.
Transport for London (TfL) teamed up with art gallery Annin Arts to display the 10 striking images taken by the fashion artist and photographer on bus stops along the Strand, between Trafalgar Square and Somerset House.
The exhibition, unsurprisingly dubbed âBus Stopsâ, can only be viewed by passengers travelling on the top decks of Londonâs buses during London fashion week from February 14-23.
âThis innovative idea enables passengers to enjoy art for free as they make their journeys on the bus network,â a TfL spokesman said.
The unusual exhibition could be a sign of things to come as TfL announced it will be working with London Transport Museum to âhost a number of engaging events, exhibitions, recreations and other activitiesâ throughout 2014 to âconnect Londoners with their bus networkâ.
This year marks a number of key anniversaries, which TfL is celebrating under the banner âYear of the Busâ, including the Routemasterâs 60th year and 100 years since hundreds of London buses were sent to the Western Front during the First World War.
Nine-hundred buses were used to transport soldiers behind the lines and served until the end of the war when they took troops back home.
