The search is on for the West Briton best picture winner sponsored by Specsavers

The West Briton have teamed up with SPECSAVERS to launch a kids photography competition with the winner receiving a £250 camera.

The competition has been launched to celebrate the start of Specsavers ‘two free pairs’ promotion in stores nationwide, which will see children qualify for one pair of specs free from the NHS and a second free pair from Specsavers.

Photos submitted to the competition must be taken by a person less than 18 years of age and should be focused towards the child’s favourite thing in Cornwall.

The competition will be judged by Jacqui Walls, editor of The West Briton newspaper with the winning entry scooping a Pentax WG-3 digital camera worth more than £250 and a free sight test and eye care for the winning child and a parent.

Speaking on behalf of the Specsavers stores in Cornwall, Truro and Newquay store director, Graham Dunn, says: ‘To celebrate our fantastic new offer we’re celebrating the things that make our children so happy by asking them to capture it and share it with us all.’

The Pentax WG-3 camera is a waterproof, coldproof, shockproof and crushproof digital camera and comes in orange.

The two free pairs offer is available now and is valid for children up to the age of 16. Details and information on NHS sight tests are available in store or online at
