Storm-lashed beaches, crimson sunrises and millpond-smooth waters are among the final ten photographs shortlisted for RNLI’s My Coast contest, one of which will be picked by public vote via the charity’s Facebook page this week.
The competition was launched last autumn to coincide with an exhibition showcasing the photography of volunteer lifeboat crew member and professional photographer, Nigel Millard.
Mr Millard, who picked the top 10 photographs, said: ‘I looked for striking images that really encapsulate the photographer’s experience of the coastline.’
To vote, go to the RNLI Facebook page before 22 April.
On the shortlist: This tranquil scene showing an elderly couple walking along the golden sand was photographed by Josh Cooper at Aberdovey in Wales
Heading out: A surfer walking out into the steamy Cornish surf at Praa Sands is the subject of this atmospheric photograph by Mike Honour
Eerie mists: Taken by Jonny Royal in Sandbanks, Dorset, this photograph is one of ten shortlisted for the RNLI My Coast competition
Childhood memories: Philip Hobbs took this photograph of a young girl walking barefoot along the shore at Broadhaven, Pembrokeshire
Bathed in red: This breathtaking photograph by Donald McClymont shows the landscape at Dunstanburgh, Northumberland, as the sun rises, turning the sky red
Modern landscape: A wind farm and tanker provide a contrasting backdrop for a traditional fishing boat at Meols on Merseyside, in this photo by Neil Murphy
