Pre-Order the Pentax 645Z Medium Format DSLR

Ricoh has updated its 645 Pentax line with the more affordable 645Z digital SLR camera. The medium format camera is $1,500 cheaper than its predecessor, the Pentax 645D. It features a 51.4MP CMOS sensor sans an anti-aliasing filter, an ISO range from 100-204,800 and a Prime III image processor which allows for an impressive three frames per second image capture. The 645Z is also capable of switching between Full HD 1080 60i/30p/24p video and still imagery thanks to its dedicated switchover button.

Other features include a SAFOX II autofocus with 27 autofocus points including 25 cross-type sensors and 3 AF sensors dedicated for low light focusing, a 3.2″, 1037k-dot, tilting LCD monitor, and Ricoh’s new Real Time Scene Analysis System.

The Pentax 645Z is also compatible with D FA autofocus lenses as well as older 645 lenses, and it is moisture, sand, and dustproof.

The Pentax 645Z medium format DSLR camera body is now available for pre-order from BH and Adorama for $8,498. It is expected to start shipping in June.
