It looks like Sony’s 50MP CMOS sensor is becoming the go-to sensor for high-end medium format cameras. After Phase One’s IQ250 and Hasselblad’s H5D-50c, we now have Ricoh joining the fray under its PENTAX brand.

The 645D 2014 (tentative name) was announced at CP+ 2014 and is expected to be available before June this year.

Along with the camera, Ricoh is also planning to release a super wide zoom lens to go with it.

Apart from the telephoto lens and the tilt-type LCD monitor, no other info has been provided by Ricoh on their news page(Japanese). We’ll just have to wait till the camera goes on retail.
