Stefan Wermuth named photographer of the year at Picture Editors" Guild Awards

His photographs, that embody an Oxford tyro celebration from a champagne bottle, a coffin of Margaret Thatcher during her wake and Chris Huhne nearing during Southwark Crown Court, won him a pretension of SABMiller Photographer of a Year.


The Reuters photographer’s work emerged forward of other superb examples from a universe of news, business, sports and conform and entertainment.


The entries, from over 400 press photographers opposite a country, were judged by a row of design editors from national, informal and general newspapers, as good as detailed agencies.


Alan Sparrow, authority of a UK Picture Editors’ Guild Chairman, said: “This year’s entries constructed some of a closest scoring among a judges, though a transparent leader emerged early. we consider that a work of Stefan Wermuth creates him an superb SABMiller Photographer of a Year.”


The winning photographs will be displayed during an muster during a Museum of London between 6 Nov – 16 Mar and a book containing a images will be published.
