Sony India Launches Rx 10, Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R Cameras


Sony India just launched 3 new cameras for the Indian market, respectively as Rx 10, Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R. Here we introduce the features, specifications, price and time of availability of these cameras.


Sony, the ace global electronics giant has launched 3 new cameras in India, respectively as Rx 10, Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R. While first one is a bridge type camera with higher pixel density image sensor, the latter two are full frame interchangeable lens cameras. In Rx 10 Sony tried to incorporate some features of Rx 100 and some additional ones too. Alpha 7R reportedly is the world’s slimmest full frame interchangeable lens camera. Obviously launches with the launches of these 3 cameras the ace camera manufacturer can claim a far better value proposition in the mid budget camera segment.


Rx 10


Rx 10 is a camera that uses 20.2 MP Exmor image sensor much in the fashion of Rx 100 II, Sony’s earlier model in the same line. The camera is powered by BIONZ X processing engine and has 24-200mm Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens with aperture size of f2.8. PASM operating settings and up 12800 ISO setting are other distinct advantages offered by the camera. You can shoot full HD movies at 60p/24p with this camera and can save your photos in either JPEG or RAW format. Connectivity options with smartphones are also quite simple, either through Wi-Fi or NFC. Sony India priced the camera at INR 84,990 and the camera will hit the market by the end of December.



Alpha 7 and 7R


Alpha series cameras are much hyped mirror less interchangeable frame cameras launched by the company with an array of advanced features. BIONZ X processor, XGA OLEG true finder, full HD video recording are some of the distinct features that make these two cameras so coveted for photographers who loves precision and control more than anything. Both the cameras are compatible with Sony E-mount and full frame lenses.


Alpha 7R


The most important thing that makes Alpha 7R better placed among the cameras with equal functional excellence in this range is its sleek, slim and lightweight design. Alpha 7R as claimed by the company is the world’s lightest interchangeable lens camera with full frame. The camera body weighs only 406 gram, obviously a lot lighter than similar models in the range. Alpha 7R boasts of a 35mm full frame sensor with 36.4MP density which permits 14 bit recording in RAW format. The camera is also equipped with fast AF optimized full frame sensor and direct access interface for better, speedier and natural shooting control. The camera is endowed with easy connectivity options like Wi-Fi and NFC for sharing data with smartphones or other computing devices. The camera is priced at INR 124,990 and is to be available by the end of December as announced by Sony India at launch.


Alpha 7


Alpha 7 is another lightweight camera (only 416 gram) with interchangeable lens and full frame shooting capability. With 24.3MP density the camera permits you to do 14 bit RAW recording. The camera is equipped with Fast Hybrid AF with phase detection capability and DSLR like speed. The camera can be a photographer’s dream device with direct access interface and AF optimized full frame sensor for better precision and natural control while shooting. The camera can be connected to smartphones via Wi-Fi or NFC. The camera is priced at INR 94,990 with a 28-70mm full frame lens (SEL 2870) and is to be available in Indian market in the end of December.
