Prince George christening: Jason Bell confirmed as official photographer

He also said it was “too funny” when a fellow user of the website joked that,

after Prince William married Kate Middleton, he had changed his

“relationship status” to “it’s complicated”.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have

met Jason Bell and they both think he is going to be the best for the

christening. He is a world-renowned photographer and his work speaks for

itself.”

The spokesman declined to comment on Bell’s tweet about cocaine.

Bell will take the official photographs at Clarence House, with no official

pictures being taken of the christening itself in the Chapel Royal at St

James’s Palace.

Details of the service, and the names of the godparents, will be released

tomorrow.

New York-based Bell was born in Camden, north London, and studied politics,

philosophy and economics at Oxford University.

He has received a number of awards, including The Royal Photographic Society’s

Terrence Donovan Award for outstanding contribution to photography and the

Best British Black and White Photographer at the British Picture Editor’s

Awards.

He was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in September

2011.
