Canon EOS M upgraded camera is rumored to be coming out soon according to an announcement from September, but other than that, speculations have been low-until now.
Canon Watch previously claimed that a major retailer will hold an event on November 10th, and according to the report, the retailer could not share anything about whether or not there will be new Canon products, except for the fact that Canon people will be interested.

Now, according to Ubergizmo, it looks more likely that the new EOS M will most likely see a 2014 announcement. Recent reports state that CES 2014 taking place early next year will be a viable platform for the camera’s announcement, and if that doesn’t happen, we may have to wait for a separate Canon event or a press release if they decide the camera doesn’t have an event of its own.
As previously reported, major retailers often get the inside details of upcoming products since they are typically bound by the NDA to prevent information leaks ahead of schedule. So since they aren’t denying any Canon products, it’s something to look out for, especially since there are no other EOS DSLR cameras speculated for release this year.
This camera is supposed to be the successor of the Canon EOS M, which may be named the EOS M2. And an announcement so short before Christmas isn’t the best strategy, unless they have a powerhouse marketing campaign.
