From Model To Photographer: Jill Kennington Exhibits

JILL KENNINGTON is one of a few who have managed to forge

successful careers both in front of and behind a camera lens -

and we have a preview of her stirring photography muster to

share with you. She initial started operative as a indication in a Sixties

and has been shot by everybody from Norman Parkinson to David Bailey

- what improved training for her contingent career change.

“Having worked with so many eminent photographers, we could say

that my favourites shabby me, but me knowing. we understand

light and figure – we adore it and a good people we worked with

loved it, so it has been a arrange of osmosis,” she explained. “I

didn’t start holding cinema until we stopped being

photographed.”

Since a Eighties, photography has been her solitary concentration – and a

number of her pieces are on arrangement as partial of a National

Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection. Now, a new exhibition,

entitled Eye to Eye and dedicated only to her

work, is opening during a Young Gallery in Salisbury.

“I have always been meddlesome in a detailed image, which

is because we used to put 100 per cent into formulating a good fashion

shoot. we suspicion it was all magic,” she told us. “As a

photographer, we would contend that we am meddlesome in a middle person

when doing portraits – a hint of them. In landscapes, we am

interested in atmosphere and mood.”

Eye to Eye runs from Aug 3 to 24 during a Young

Gallery in Salisbury. Admission is free. Click by a gallery
