Franklin County area police log

- Chambersburg



VANDALISM: Someone damaged several vehicles parked on South Third Street between Aug. 9 and Aug. 11 by scratching their sides and using permanent marker, according to Chambersburg Police.



DUI: Steven Thomas, 29, Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with driving under the influence about 2:43 a.m. Friday after he struck a monument at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Main Street, according to Chambersburg Police.



HIT AND RUN: Someone struck the front of a 2012 gray Dodge Charger between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 10, while it was parked at the rear of Chambersburg Fire Department, according to Chambersburg Police.



PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS: According to Chambersburg Police, Justin D. Holecheck, 33, Chambersburg, was charged with public drunkenness after an incident on West Loudon Street about 9:55 p.m. Monday.



SIMPLE ASSAULT: According to Chambersburg Police, Steven R. Pope, 41, Chambersburg was arrested for simple assault following the report of a domestic assault at a residence on Kennedy Street about 12:53 a.m. Tuesday.



THEFT: Chambersburg Police have reported several thefts from vehicles parked in the area of Merriweather Drive and Whitely Drive from overnight Sunday.



Police report that items reported missing include a GPS unit, CD case with CDs inside, phone charged, iPod charger, cologne, a wallet with credit cards and four vintage cameras with brand names Kikomat, Minolta and Seagull.



- Shippensburg



FOUND: According to Shippensburg Police,


a Next 20-inch purple and silver girl’s bicycle was found around 2:13 p.m. Friday on East Neff Avenue.



The owner may claim the bike at the Shippensburg Police station.



- Shippensburg Township, Cumberland County



DUI: Kyle P. McGrogan, 22, Shippensburg, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after he was stopped for turning left on a red signal on Aug. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.



- Southampton Township, Cumberland County



SIMPLE ASSAULT: Teresa L. Murphy, 58, no address given, was arrested for simple assault and harassment following an alleged physical altercation Monday on Scrafford Street , according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.



- Monroe Township, Cumberland County



HARASSMENT: Helen Reckline, 19, East Berlin, and Dustin Reisinger, 22, Boiling Springs, were cited with harassment after the two were allegedly involved in a physical altercation on Aug. 14 at a residence on High Street, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.



- Newville



THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE: According to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle, someone stole a black iPod classic 160 GB between 9 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 p.m. Monday from a truck parked along East Main Street.



- Upper Frankford Twp., Cumberland County



HARASSMENT: A 52-year-old has been issued a non-traffic citation for harassment on Friday after she slapped her boyfriend in the face after she had been drinking, according to Pennsylvania State Police, Carlisle.
