Firmware Friday: Canon resolves EOS 1D-series power drain; Panasonic ...



It’s Friday, and that means dual things. The weekend’s roughly here, and so is Firmware Friday, a unchanging roundup of a latest digital camera firmware updates. This week, we have new firmware to news from both Canon and Panasonic.



Canon’s new firmware covers 3 of a veteran EOS 1D-series digital SLRs: a EOS-1D Mark III, EOS-1Ds Mark III, and EOS-1D Mark IV. In all 3 cases, a firmware creates a same fixes, that solve issues when there’s no lens mounted on a camera body. If any of these cameras were powered on though a lens attached, energy expenditure could be aloft than normal, potentially removal your battery. A shiver recover though lens trustworthy could outcome in an Error 02 message. (Of course, we won’t do most sharpened though a lens trustworthy — though when regulating a mountain adapter with no electrical connectivity, a camera competence think there was no lens attached.)
