Canon EOS 70D vs Nikon D7100, Release Date, Rumors, Review: Battle of the ...

Both cameras use APS-C sensors and are aimed at photography enthusiasts that require better quality and more features. 


The Canon EOS 70D weights 755g, and is larger and heavier than the entry-level DSLR. I operates with 20.2 megapixels, and 19 cross-type AF + Dual Pixel CMOS AF. It also features an ISO range of 100-12800, a burst rate of 7 fps, and a 3 inch Vari-angle touch screen, with 1040k-dots. It features an SD card (UHS-I compliant). 


Meanwhile, the Nikon D7100 weights about 765g, slightly more than the Canon.It operates on 24.1 megapixels, giving it a slight advantage over the EOS 70D. It also features 51 focus point autofocus, a 6 fps burst rate, and an ISO range of 100-6400. It also operates with 100% LCD viewfinder capacities.

The Nikon is priced at $1,200 for the body only, and $1,600 with 18-105mm. The Canon EOS 70D is also priced at $1,200 for the body online, but with $1,350 with 18-55mm. 


“The Canon 70D is a more all-round multi-media device. For many people the improved video focusing and built-in wireless capabilities for sharing images will instantly make a compelling argument in favor of the 70D,” writes Gizmag columnist, Simon Crisp. 


Canon EOS 70D will start shipping in late August, BH reveals.Rumors have surfaced that the 70D will include faster processing capabilities, a touch-screen interface, and a wireless internet connection.
