Your photos: See these entries in the Daily Post photography competition

If you think of yourself as a budding young photographer, get some top tips from a new Daily Post column and maybe your snaps could win you a prize!

Ioan Said, a BIPP qualified professional photographer from Wrexham, will be offering his expert advice to under 18s.

Everyone who uploads a photo will have it included in a Daily Post gallery and be critiqued by Ioan.

Here’s his first column:

Photography has become so popular in recent years!

With mobile phones like the Nokia Lumia series and entry-level DSLRs becoming more and more feature laden and powerful, it’s becoming easier to capture images for the purpose of photography as an art or simply to share with friends what we’ve been up to.

But what’s the difference between a good picture and a great one? Do you REALLY need to upgrade your equipment to take better pictures?

In the following weeks, we will be looking at some of the different images sent by readers like you with the hope of helping everyone learn a bit more about photography, allowing you to enjoy it even more!

Why through critique? Because that’s how I learned myself as well as many other photographers! It’s often hard for us to look totally objectively at our own pictures, so having someone else look can often be of great help!

Every four weeks we will also be giving prizes from some of our sponsors like Calumet Photographic, Aspire Photography Training and Enlight Photo , makers of the Orbis Flash! Also, don’t forget to send in some questions and we will answer them as best we can.

Only rule is you have to be under 18! Also, do NOT include watermarks. They’re rather distracting and always disqualify you in competition.
