The search is on to find the perfect pairing in Gloucestershire.

Everyone knows the special bonds children create with their friends, siblings and other family members – and sometimes even the family pet.

Now WEEKEND and Specsavers want to see the evidence in a new photography competition designed to celebrate perfect pairings.

The winner will be given a Pentax WG-3 digital camera worth more than £250, plus a free sight test and eyecare voucher for the parent and child.

It’s part of Specsavers’ new Perfect Pairing promotion, on now at its stores in Bell Walk, Eastgate Shopping Centre, Gloucester, and 206 High Street, Cheltenham, which offer two free pairs of glasses to children under the age of 16.

Following an NHS eye test, children can claim one pair of free specs from Specsavers’ £64-£85 range – and they’ll get a second pair free.

Both pairs will come with SuperTough lenses, or you can choose prescription sunglasses with a UV filter for the second pair.

Paul Chessell, store director at Specsavers Gloucester, says let your imagination run wild – just make sure you capture on camera the special bond between your child and their very best pal.

“To launch our fantastic new offer we’re celebrating that perfect pairing that makes our children so happy,” says Paul.

“We know that at a young age, friendships are vitally important, and it’s that bond that we’re hoping to capture through our photography competition,” says Cheltenham store director Melanie Brackstone.

Specsavers’ two free pairs offer is available now and is valid for children up to the age of 16. Details on NHS sight tests are available in store or online at www.specsavers.co.uk.

The Pentax WG-3 camera is a waterproof, coldproof, shockproof and crushproof digital camera.

To enter the photography competition, all you have to do is take a picture of your under-16 and their best friend, pet, sibling or other family member. Then email the photo with your name, address and daytime telephone number to weekend@glosmedia.co.uk, marking ‘Specsavers competition’ in the subject box. The closing date for entries is Saturday, April 26.

The winning entry will be judged by WEEKEND editor Tanya Gledhill and published in a subsequent issue.
