Nikon launches 16 new COOLPIX cameras in India, with prices starting from Rs ...

Nikon-CoolpixNikon has decided to crowd the “point and shoot” market with a lot of cameras, 16 to be exact. A part of COOLPIX Spring Series 2014, the cameras range from basic point and shoots to the mega-zoom kind.

With the addition of these new units, the COOLPIX range now has a total of 21 cameras, available in 57 colours. The 16 new cameras (included in the above mentioned figure) are readily available across the country, says Nikon.

Prices for the new cameras range between Rs 4,990 for the basic COOLPIX L29 and go up to Rs 23,950 for COOLPIX P600.

The COOLPIX P600 comes with 60x optical zoom, can shoot up to Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) video with stereo sound. Positioned slightly lower, the COOLPIX P530 gets a 42x optical zoom and a maximum ISO sensitivity of 6400. The P340 offers a 5x zoom, and a fast f/1.8 aperture. It can also record Full HD videos, and make use of the shallow depth of field the f/1.8 lens offers. The whole range comes with Vibration Reduction to minimize shake in videos, and unintentional blur in photos.

The COOLPIX S range of cameras offer up to 30x zoom in one of the models, and Wi-Fi and anti-shake features.

The COOLPIX L series get up to 34x zoom, and features that would interest people who have just entered the world of photography.

There’s also a new AW120 camera, that boasts shock-proofing and waterproofing. It can withstand falls up to approximately 2 meters, can survive temperatures as low as -10 degree celsius, and is dust-proof too. It’s priced at Rs 17,950.
