Pentax K-50 and Pentax K-3 Receive Awards from Imaging Resource

Ricoh Imaging’s PENTAX K-50 Named Best Entry-Level DSLR of 2013, PENTAX K-3 Receives DSLR of Distinction and Technology of Distinction Awards

Ricoh Imaging America’s Corporation (Ricoh Imaging) is pleased to announce that the PENTAX K-50 has been selected as the Best Entry-Level DSLR of 2013 by Imaging Resource, an industry-leading website for photo news and camera reviews.

As part of Imaging Resource’s Camera of the Year Awards, the PENTAX K-50 was rigorously tested and carefully compared to its peers; ultimately being selected as the Best Entry-Level DSLR of 2013.

Often referred to as a mid-level DSLR, the PENTAX K-50 combines a uniquely advanced feature set with a consumer-friendly price tag. Of the PENTAX K-50’s broad feature set, the team of experts at Imaging Resource remarked, “Pentax is the only manufacturer providing comprehensive weather-sealing, dustproofing, and coldproofing at every level: professional, enthusiast, mid-range, and now at the entry-level too. Even the Pentax K-50’s kit lenses are weather-sealed.”

“We are honored that the PENTAX K-50’s advanced features and capabilities were recognized by the experts at Imaging Resource,” said Brian McIntosh, Director of Marketing, Ricoh Imaging. “Being honored with this award is a testament to our commitment to provide feature-packed imaging devices that exceed expectations with affordable pricing.”

In addition, Imaging Resource has also recognized the PENTAX K-3 with two awards; Camera of Distinction in the enthusiast DSLR category and a Technology of Distinction accolade for its innovative and industry-first selectable anti-aliasing filter. When describing the PENTAX K-3’s venerable feature set, the knowledgeable Imaging Resource writers said “This is a true, no-excuses premium DSLR that stands toe to toe with anything on the market, while besting many on features and capability – And its switchable antialiasing filter technology is absolutely unique.”

Elevating standard performance, the PENTAX K-3 boasts a 24 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, incredibly fast 8.3 fps (frames per second) frame rate, innovative selectable anti-aliasing (AA) filter technology and outstanding HD video performance; all while giving demanding photographers dual card slots for quick and easy image recording and seamless wireless remote capture and image transfer capabilities.

“The PENTAX K-3’s advanced features and revolutionary technology represent our dedication to producing innovative products that present new opportunities for Ricoh Imaging to deliver more creative freedom to the consumer,” said Brian McIntosh, Director of Marketing, Ricoh Imaging.

The PENTAX K-50 and PENTAX K-3 will be on display to touch and try in the Ricoh Imaging booth (#14837) at the International Consumer Electronics Show taking place January 7-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
