Incredible photographs chronicling breathtaking vistas and scenes from all over the world are to go on display in London later this month.


An exhibition showcasing the winning and shortlisted images from the third Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) will open at London’s Royal Geographical Society in late September as part of a global tour.


It is the first time the awards have visited the UK. The theme of the competition this year is ‘Beauty of Light’.


It was established in 2011 and is open to photographers of all abilities, with an overall prize fund of £248,000, making it the world’s biggest photography prize.


It includes spectacular landscapes, intimate portraits and stunning black and white images by photographers from around the world.  The pictures incorporate shimmering deserts, Vietnamese fishermen, birds of prey and child monks.


The exhibition will also showcase the work of five British photographers.

brilliant photos with the theme being light I love haunting the way the light is coming through the mist and reflected in the water and also jade reflection two very beautiful pictures the ones in the desert although stunning are so like ones ive seen over and over again but I suppose you could say that about all of them

i just spotted two cloned birds, lower right corner of the “flamingos photo”, see for yourself, same exact pixels, one slightly smaller. this contestant should be disqualified, leaves you wondering who are the judges who admit this blatant fakery to a photography contest

instead of red arrowing listen to this and try and disprove me: the picture with the flamingos and the boat, how is it possible that the boat leaves no wake whatsoever or if it is still it should propagate some ripples n the water around it. Looks so fake! the ducks behind it leave a wake in the water. Plus wouldn’t the birds be scared by a boat passing through them? they don’t seem to notice it at all! The pespective is also off on the boat, compare the perspective plane of the birds and see it yourself. Proportions are also off: the boat is way too big for its position, compare an average sized flamingo with a average sized man. There’s so many flaws in this one! and there are more in other pictures! green arrow this if you agree after carefully examining the “photo”! I’m an image editing expert and amateur photographer.

All fantastic, but none are worth that ridiculous amount of money. Sadly that’s the thing with the world today, the rich only believe in somethings beauty if it has a high price tag.
