As you probably know, Sony is planning to launch a camera phone at IFA 2013, along with a couple of lens cameras accessories. Youâve probably heard about the Sony QX10 and QX100 lenses which will attach to iOS and Android devices and act as a wireless lens using Wi-Fi. New reports coming from Sony Alpha Rumors reveal that the starting price of the new accessories will start at $250.
The same publication reveals that one of the color options of the Sony QX10 will be available âchampagne gold,â a color option that is also expected to be available for Appleâs iPhone 5S. While the QX10 is the cheaper lens, the high-end model will be the QX100.
QX10 will have a price tag of $250, while QX100 will be priced at $450, both devices being capable of recording 1080p@30 fps videos and are equipped with optical image stabilization.
After shooting videos or photos with QX10 or QX100 you will be able to save them directly on your smartphone or on the integrated flash memory of Sonyâs photo accessories. You will also get NFC support, and QX10 will come with a 18 megapixel unit with 1/2.3 inch sensor size and f/3.3-5.9 lens, the same setup that is currently available on the Sony WX150 camera.
On the other hand, the QX100 will borrow its sensor from Sonyâs RX100m2 camera, a 1-inch 20.2-megapixel Exmor R sensor with f/1.8-4.9 Carl Zeiss lens.
The highly-anticipated Sony camera phone, itâs known internally as Honami, but it is expected to go on sale as Xperia Z1. Rumor has it that the Xperia Z1 will sport a powerful Snapdragon 800 chipset with quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and support for microSD cards.
The Xperia Z1 might also come with a 5-inch full HD display with Triluminos technology, while its main selling point will be the 20.7 megapixel camera with Sony G Lens and support for 4K video recording. The rumor mill speculates that Sony Honami will be both water and dust proof, while fitting in the design line used by the Japanese phone maker for Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra.
Since the above details havenât been confirmed by official sources, we are recommending you to take them with a pinch of salt, as it would be wiser to wait for IFA 2013 to kick off in order to find out more about Sonyâs new products.
