Canon EOS 7D Mark II Rumors, Specs, Release: Is This Canon"s Next Flagship ...

According to Camera Egg, the Canon EOS 7D Mark II is expected to be announced in 2014, where it will be a high-end Flagship APS-C DSLR. The camera’s rumored specs include a 20.2 Megapixel APS-C, possible 12 fps although target is 10, limited video features, ISO 100-25600 and an improved Dual Pixel AF.

Canon Watch states that Canon is testing two different sensor configurations for the camera, there is also a 24 Megapixel sensor that is in field testing. Canon wants to step up resolution for the 7D Mark II to make it different from the EOS 70D along with the low light/high ISO performance.

The camera is noted to also have “high grade” weather sealing like other professional DSLRs, a single card slot, Wi-Fi GPS, video features and a great ISO performance.

ISO performance is a priority because Canon wants to set high standards with this camera, aiming to make an APS-C DSLR. Canon also wants to see how the EOS 7D is received in the market before they fully develop the specs for the EOS 7D Mark II. If Canon makes this the new flagship after the EOS 7D, then it will definitely have to be feature-packed. This means that they have to have better specs than the EOS 7D, better resolution, and a more sophisticated AF system.

The specs are far from complete, according to Canon Rumors, but they seem very plausible. The camera is set to release later in 2014, where it is expected to cost $2,199.
